What is StrikeCast?
StrikeCast is a real-time lightning tracker for iPhone. It shows the distance to the nearest lightning strike in miles on the main screen, with a live trend telling you whether the storm is approaching or moving away.
Save locations and get a push notification the moment lightning strikes near them. You don't need to keep the app open or share background location. Alerts are matched server-side, so the app doesn't track your location in the background.
Strike data comes from NOAA's GOES-19/18 GLM satellites covering the full US, LatAM, Europe regions.
Privacy-first: no ad tracking, no IDFA, no data sold. Never shared, never tracked.
Free to use, with an optional subscription for faster alerts and more saved locations.
