What is Stackness?

Stackness is a social platform where people in IT show the tools, workflows and approaches they use to get things built. Every user keeps a public tech stack: the tools they use now and used before, with dates, plus the moves behind them.

A page you arrange yourself. Drag tiles where they belong, size up the ones that matter, tuck the small utilities into a cluster and colour each subspace. One link that ends up looking like you, at stackness.dev/stck/your-name.

Moves, not just tools. A move is how you use your tools: a prompt you reuse, TDD-first on every feature, an instructions file in every project root. Moves are structured content that others can react to, comment on and copy.

A dated history. Add tools with start and end dates, backdating included, so your page shows how your setup got here.

Trending tools and moves. See what people are adding this week and this month, overall and per category. Follow people whose taste you trust and read their updates in a chronological feed with no algorithm.

Tool pages with real data. Every tool has a page showing who uses it, what they keep it next to, and its popularity over time, drawn from fourteen credited public sources such as the Stack Overflow developer survey and npm downloads and kept separate from platform usage.

An MCP server for your AI assistant. Connect Claude or any MCP client with an API key and ask it to fill your stack from a project or your GitHub, arrange the layout, file moves or follow people. It acts only when you ask.

Free for everyone, with no ads and no selling your data. One person builds and runs Stackness, and supporter and team subscriptions pay the bills. Profiles, tool pages and trends are public, so reading needs no account.
