SplitBill (Open Source)

SplitBill is a privacy-focused, offline-first web application designed to help groups split restaurant bills and shared expenses.

Users can take a photo of a physical receipt, and the application uses local OCR (Optical Character Recognition) via WebAssembly to extract line items and prices directly on the device. Users can then assign specific items to different people in their group, including splitting single items into fractions. The app automatically distributes taxes, tips, and discounts proportionally to ensure the math is exact.

SplitBill operates entirely client-side. It does not require user accounts, does not use external databases, and does not upload receipt images to cloud servers. Once loaded, it functions completely offline as a Progressive Web App (PWA).
