What is Somnia?

Somnia is a privacy-first dream journal built around the neuroscience of dream memory.

The problem with every other journal app is timing. During REM sleep, your brain suppresses norepinephrine — the neurotransmitter that consolidates memories. When you wake up, your dream exists only in working memory for about 2 minutes before being displaced by new inputs. Light, sound, your phone, the thought of your day — each one overwrites the fragile trace.

Most journal apps wait for you to come to them. By then it's already gone.

Somnia is built around that 2-minute window instead of ignoring it.

HOW IT WORKS

Set your alarm inside Somnia. When it fires, a server-side capture window opens automatically. The capture screen is the first thing you see — no home screen, no navigation, no loading. Type the first word and the timer stops. Miss the window and that day's entry locks forever. No override. No extension. No exceptions.
