With a long year experience with other shareware or paid mouse utilities for OSX none of those made as much good job as Smoothmouse.
This utility is more reliable, simple and even non-conflict with other mouse utilities such as Mouse Brand drivers (Razer drivers) or USBoverdrive. I really recommend this for gamers because it allows user to completely disable mouse acceleration and change velocity multiplier of mouse input.
Also one tip to have 1.0x multiplier like on windows 6/11. In Smoothmouse a 1.0x multiplier is 4/12
