Pro: There is a portable version, there are several defragmentation algorithms, it can defragment files locked by the system (on reboot), there is an activity monitor with a configurable timer for automatically starting defragmentation when the condition for the degree of disk fragmentation is met. The application is live, new versions are released periodically.
Cons: 32-bit version only, cannot work with multiple hard drives at the same time.
Smart Defrag used to be my go to defrag program until the latest update. They've crippled the free version further unless you want to USD19.99/pc/year. Its so crippled at this point that there's no reason to have the program on the PC.
it has free version and good but full of promotional adware. keep asking me to install their software's partner.
This used to be my favorite defrag program, but I hadn't used it in a long time. There may be a reason for that. I just used it and when I restarted, Windows chose to do a scan and repair. I believe that has happened in the past and so I suggest caution. They've grown a lot of nuisance tactics in trying to push their stuff.
continuous defragmentation with road monitoring and low consumption
IOBit Smart Defrag has all of the essential tools that any defragmenter should have, wrapped in an attractive interface. The program is fast and in my opinion effective, but the biggest drawback is the creation of a start-up app "Smart Defrag Updater" which you can't opt-out of through the program.
IOBit Smart Defrag is a good program, but thankfully there are better ones.
bare-none this is the best freeware Smart Defrager out there. It has a great interface and feature set that one would normally have to pay for. I use to use Raxco but why? when I can use this for free.
