I like seeing more real alternatives to Discord, especially ones that focus on privacy instead of locking key features behind a subscription. The end-to-end encryption and easy Discord server import are the features that stand out to me the most. If Sloga continues to grow its community, I think it has the potential to become a very compelling option for gaming groups and online communities.

What is Sloga?

Sloga is a free chat app for gaming communities — a Discord alternative with servers, channels, roles and permissions, and low-latency voice, video, and screen sharing.

It is currently the closest alternative to Discord with nearly all of the features that Discord has to offer with some unique ones as well.

What sets it apart is true end-to-end encryption: direct messages, attachments, and calls (voice, video, and screen share) can be end-to-end encrypted, so the server only ever handles ciphertext. Sloga also doesn't log IP addresses.
