What is Site Spy?
Site Spy monitors websites for changes and shows you exactly what's different with visual diffs.
How it works:
- Add any URL or use the browser extension to click on a specific element (a price, headline, stock status)
- Site Spy checks on your schedule — from every minute to weekly
- When something changes, you get an instant notification (browser push, email, or Telegram)
- Open the visual diff view to see exactly what was added (green) or removed (red)
Key features:
- Element Inspector: Click on any part of a page to track just that section instead of the whole page. Uses Shadow DOM isolation so it never interferes with the website.
- Visual Diff Viewer: Side-by-side and unified diff views with color-coded changes, just like a code diff.
- Snapshot Timeline: Browse every captured version with timestamps and compare any two snapshots.
- Color-Coded Tags: Organize your tracked websites with Finder-style color labels.
- Notifications: Browser push notifications, email alerts, and Telegram messages when changes are detected.
- AI Integration: MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets AI assistants like Claude and Cursor create watches, check for changes, and summarize diffs.
- Multi-Browser: Chrome extension, Firefox add-on, and web dashboard accessible from any device.
Use cases:
- Track price drops on products you want to buy
- Monitor job boards for new postings
- Watch competitor websites for updates
- Follow government or legal pages for regulation changes
- Keep tabs on news, blogs, or forums
