It's a great idea but poorly executed:
- there is no categorization, so it's impossible to discover new sites based on type or theme
- the alternative sites suggested are based on a similarity percentage that seems arbitrary or unreliable
Quick and concrete test: google.com First of all, we read: "Sorry. Description is not currently available." Uh, OK. Maybe it needs no introduction, but at least tell me it's a search engine. Alternative #1: Facebook. Uuuuh OK. This site is definitely useless....

It sounds like a wonderful project, and the page design is quite OK. Hmm, everything looks fine.
But how about of its usage actually? It indexed many sites but they are not good connected. Sometimes you searched a website what is not well-known, in the similar sites list you will probably find not even one site is actually similar to that, all results are useless!
Users can contribute it to optimize their database. I tried that, I thumb up'ed one website and re-check it one month later, nothing changed! WTF? I don't know how many thumb ups are needed but very few people just did that so I thought I could be a important power but no.
I suggest don't waste time on it.

Good site forever
Couldn't get it to work or deliver any data, as Brawe-Browser extension, unfortunately.
