What is Shortery?

Shortery is a tool designed to automate the execution of Apple Shortcuts. It offers a selection of over 17 distinct triggers that initiate your pre-set automations. The software enhances the capability of shortcuts by initiating them whenever certain conditions or triggers are detected. Apple shortcuts allow you to automate a wide variety of tasks on your Mac and within your home environment. These tasks range from playing your preferred music, setting window layouts, providing directions, toggling HomeKit scenes, and much more.

The triggers that Shortery employs are versatile and cover a broad range of applications. These triggers include Appearance, which responds to shifts between light and dark mode, and Applications, which triggers when an app is launched, quit, or becomes active or inactive. Other triggers include Audio, Calendar Events, Camera, Clamshell Mode, and Devices, which track the connection and disconnection of various devices such as USB, Bluetooth, headphones, external drives, and network volumes. Additional triggers include Focus Mode, Folder Contents, Keyboard, LAN, Login & Logout, Monitors, Power, Screen, Sunrise & Sunset, Wake up & Sleep, Time, and WiFi. Each trigger has a specific function, such as triggering shortcuts based on power adapter status, local sunrise and sunset times, or changes in your WiFi connection.
