What is Ship Kit ?
Ship Kit is a production-ready Next.js 16 starter kit built on Better Auth that gives solo developers and small teams a complete authentication and billing foundation for SaaS products.
It ships with email/password and GitHub OAuth authentication, multi-tenant organizations with role-based access control and strict cross-org data isolation, org-level Stripe billing with signed and replay-safe webhooks, and an admin panel covering users, organizations, and metrics. The codebase includes 245 unit tests and Playwright end-to-end tests. Setup runs with a single command.
Ship Kit also provides free, open-source deterministic migration codemods for teams moving from NextAuth (Auth.js) or Clerk to Better Auth. The codemods are MIT-licensed and available at github.com/authlayerdev/ship-kit-migrate.
