What is Shellroute?

Shellroute is an open-source CLI for routing a shell session or a single terminal command through a proxy in a chosen country or city. Your other apps and terminals keep their normal connection.

It is useful when you want to run a compatible HTTP command from another network location or compare country-dependent HTTP behavior without changing the rest of your machine.

Only the routed session or command receives the proxy settings. Clients still need to honor those settings, and browser traffic such as Playwright requires explicit browser proxy configuration.

The CLI is open source. Routed proxy traffic is a paid service.
