What is Saega?

Saega is a dictation app for macOS built for Swedish and Norwegian — the two languages Apple's built-in dictation tends to mangle. It uses KB-Whisper and NB-Whisper for speech recognition, running entirely on your Mac, so the audio never leaves the device.

Press a hotkey anywhere to start dictating. There's also an optional AI cleanup step (powered by Claude) that fixes up punctuation and formatting, with separate modes for email, AI prompts, translation, and rewriting existing text.

The free tier gives you unlimited local dictation plus a monthly allowance of AI cleanups. Saega Pro is a one-time $39 purchase, not a subscription, and removes the cleanup limits, unlocks the larger Whisper models, and adds dictation history export. Apple Silicon only.
