Zabbix is not an APM solution and does not discover dependencies between objects.

We do have Zabbix on one PROD environment with multiples redundancies (4 apaches, 4 Tomcats 4 MongoDB, 1 MySQL , 2 Web applications and 12 WS exposed) and all these modules are fully monitored from both a technical (ex.: Webservice access,) and business (ex.: access to web interfaces) point of view. Zabbix is simple to setup and is really powerful regarding the monintoring options, including SLA definition.
