I use it to make .mp4/h264 files. RipBot264 straight forward, clean, but still complete wizard gui, which produced best video on my .mpg and tv captures, compared to other popular free video converters. RipBot264 uses a clean gui wizard (by omitting obsolete formats and unnecessary features) and queue to control current top freeware video tools, tuned for maximum quality/compression. You have the option of including useful filters like cropping, despeckle, deinterlace, resize, TV to Computer color map. RipBot264 also supports embedded subtitle track (softsub), though I use mp4box to add them separately. Note: you must have the correct version of prerequisite softwares installed. It is well worth it.
