What is Riffle for macOS?

Clean 2-way diffs, a proper 3-way merge with an editable result, folder compare, and codiff-style git review, all running locally. Riffle drops straight into git, Tower, and the command line.

Everything you need to diff, merge, and compare

Riffle covers the whole review loop, from a single-line change to a full folder tree or a pull request, without leaving your Mac.

  • Two-way file diff: Compare any two files with blocks, fluid, or unified view modes. Word-level highlighting shows exactly what moved.
  • Three-way merge: Step through each conflict and edit the result inline. Auto-merge is safe, and every auto-merged region stays reviewable.
  • Folder comparison: A themed folder table walks two trees side by side, and drills straight into the single changed file when there is only one.
  • git, Tower, and CLI: Installs as Tower's compare and merge tool, honors git difftool, --dir-diff, and --wait, and ships a riffle launcher with codiff-style review of branches and pull requests.
  • Syntax and themes: Syntax highlighting for 12 languages, plus 62 bundled themes with VS Code and TextMate theme JSON support.
  • Image diff: Compare images two-up, by difference, with onion skin, or split. Synced pan and zoom, with a pixel-identical verdict.
