What is Rest Faker?
RestFaker helps developers create realistic mock REST APIs quickly, so frontend work, prototypes, demos, and testing do not have to wait for a finished backend.
With RestFaker, you can create projects, define mock schemas, generate CRUD endpoints, and instantly get realistic fake data. It supports common API behavior such as pagination, filtering, sorting, relations between resources, authentication, protected routes, as well HTTP QUERY method, making the mock API feel much closer to a real backend.
RestFaker also includes a Scenario Engine, which lets you simulate different API states and behaviors without changing your frontend code. You can create scenarios for success responses, empty states, errors, validation failures, edge cases, and different response variations. This makes it easier to test how your application behaves in real-world situations before the actual backend is finished.
Request logging is also included, so you can inspect incoming requests, debug frontend integrations, verify headers or payloads, and better understand how your app is communicating with the mock API.
Instead of hardcoding JSON files, manually changing mock responses, or waiting for backend endpoints to be ready, RestFaker gives you a hosted mock API that behaves like a real REST API and can be used directly in your app, demo, tutorial, or development workflow.
It is useful for frontend developers, full-stack teams, agencies, students, and anyone who needs a temporary or reusable backend during development.
