What is Regex?
Regex 2.4.2 is a focused regular expression editor and tester for macOS 14.2 or later. It uses the Swift Regex engine and shows explicit empty, invalid, zero-match, and matching states while highlighting matches and counts live. Inspect capture groups 0–8 and toggle case-insensitive, dot-all, and multiline matching.
Copy expressions with backslashes and quotes escaped, or paste escaped expressions and have them unescaped. Build a live, read-only replacement preview with the app-defined $0–$8 capture and $$ literal-dollar syntax; previews do not change Test Data.
Optional one-workspace recovery is off by default and stores the workspace only in the app sandbox on the Mac. The app runs in English, French, German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish. Regex content is processed locally, with no uploads, account, cloud sync, or app analytics.
