What is Refined Media Library?

Refined Media Library is a free WordPress plugin that adds folders and collections to the media library, by drag and drop.

A detail panel opens beside the grid instead of a full-screen window. Before deleting a file, you see where it is used, and an unused-media scanner finds the files nothing references. WebP and AVIF on upload, and alt text taken from the filename, are optional and off by default.

Already using FileBird, Real Media Library, HappyFiles or another folder plugin? The folders are imported in one click, and nothing is deleted.

It is a product of its own: install it alone if the media library is all you want. It also comes in full inside Refined Admin Dashboard, which redraws the rest of the admin.
