Xojo at least makes an attempt to be cross platform. Application source code developed on it works (often with only minor changes) on Mac, Linux and Windows. Significant portions of such source can be used for either an iOS app or a web app (CGI). Their web app concept redefines RAD tool.

It's not properly cross-platform and the tight, compact design of Xojo is the exact opposite of the sprawl of .NET. There is practically zero overlap.

Visual Studio is easily compatible with Windows and Linux OS's. Apple attempts to make it difficult to program by necessitating the use of the horrible XCode product, and Visual Studio makes it possible to work-around Apples' poor operating systems. Visual Studio is a good alternative to Xojo.

Lazarus is a great IDE, no question, but it is based upon the Pascal programming language, and Xojo, on the other hand, is a modern basic dialect, so they can’t be compared actually in my opinion.

Lazarus is backed by a large community, has plenty of add-ons, is open source and free. The Free Pascal compiler that backs it is well mature and performant. It is possible to translate programs from other dialects of pascal including turbo, apple and delphi.
