What is RBS PDF Editor?

RBS PDF Editor is a free PDF editor for Windows 10 and 11. It does the things you actually do with PDFs every day — fill in forms, fix a typo, drop in a signature, paste in a photo, OCR a scanned document so it becomes searchable — without sending your files through anybody else's cloud.

What it can do:

• Edit text in place — click any word on the PDF, the text becomes editable right where it sits. Keeps the original font, size and weight. • Add text anywhere — drop new text boxes onto the page. • Place images freeform — pick a file, then drag the corner and edge handles to resize, rotate, snap to page width. Click any inserted image later to re-adjust or delete it. • One-click signature — draw your signature once with the mouse; after that, drop it on any document in one click. Stored only on your computer. • OCR scanned PDFs — turn a scan into something searchable and editable. Uses Tesseract OCR, which installs itself on first use. • Tabs, not windows — open multiple PDFs in browser-style tabs. Double-clicked files open as new tabs in the running app. • Convert PDF to Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), JPG, PNG. • Page management — merge, split, rotate, reorder, page numbering, Bates numbering. • Password protect / decrypt PDFs. • Highlight, underline, strikethrough, sticky notes, pencil, shapes. • Undo / redo across the whole editing session.

Two builds:

• Installer (RBSPDFEditor_Setup.exe) — registers file associations so double-clicking a PDF opens it here. • Portable (RBSPDFEditor_Portable.exe) — single .exe runs from a USB stick. No install, no admin rights. Settings travel with the file in a folder next to the .exe.

Privacy: no account, no cloud, no telemetry, no analytics. The only network call the app ever makes is the one-time Tesseract download if you choose to use OCR.

Built on Python, PyMuPDF, customtkinter, Pillow, pikepdf, pdfplumber, pdf2docx, Tesseract OCR. Open-source dependencies, closed source app, free to use, donations welcome.
