I've been using this app for a few months now and it's become one of my favourite tools. I love that it can record meetings without me joining as a bot, so I don't have to worry about privacy or disruptions. The transcription quality is excellent; I rarely need to edit anything in the transcript. It just sits quietly in my system menu and reminds me when I start a meeting to hit record, so I never miss anything.

What is MeetMic?
MeetMic is a macOS app for transcription, dictation, and AI summarization using OpenAI's Whisper model. It runs entirely on-device with no cloud dependency required.
The application transcribes audio from local files, YouTube videos, online meetings, and system audio. MeetMic can record meetings with calendar integration while keeping the recording interface hidden during screen sharing.
System-wide dictation works across all macOS applications, replacing keyboard input with voice. All transcription runs on your Mac.
AI summarization is available through cloud providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Mistral, Groq, Qwey, Deepseek) or on-device via Ollama and LM Studio.
MeetMic also includes batch transcription, Watch Folders for automatic background transcription, speaker diarization, Apple Shortcuts integration, and webhooks for third-party service integration.
