Great open source download manager.
Exactly what I was looking for. While it doesnt support EVERY file site that JDownloader supports it does currently have a lot of the most popular ones which is good enough for me. Comes with the captchatrader plugin natively supported by the developers (Woo!) and since its not java runs much quicker and uses less resources. (My one major caveat about JDownloader) Bit more awkward to setup in comparison to JDownloader (worth it in the end) but I figure that will get better as the project develops. Happy user!
Don't be put off by the experimental comment, the software is frequently updated and good enough to use now. It's brilliant.
It looks quite interesting, but it seems it's quite experimental. It crashes from time to time. It supports only a small range of file hosters, but at least the most popularest. It's much more faster than JDownloader, which is based on Java (urks!), but it lacks of some features. What I liked the most in comparition to JDownloader is the web interface - while JDownloader's is very slow, ugly and lacking of a lot of information (like prompts for captchas), pyLoad's web interface is very progressive and extensive. I will still use JDownloader for now, but pyLoad could become a real alternative to the ponderous JDownloader.
Great Tool! I'm using it on my NAS and I really like it. The developers are friendly and they help you if you got a problem with pyLoad.
