KDE Connect lacks the most sacred function, the dismiss button that clears the notification in the phone and opens space to more notifications. It is not an alternative to Pushbullet and maybe will never be. You can't even decide how many seconds the notification will be on the screen.

Way too complicated to make it work. In this sense, is as far as possible from Pushbullet as it can get, it's like installing an operating system.

I don't want to install a local server to share files, texts & links, but if I wanted to do that -- all I ask is for a 1 executable file that installs everything in one go, set & forget. No Docker image, no 30 steps and 2 hours to configure a server, no fancy options.

Not really an alternative service, they're different beasts

  6. Android SMS Gate. Allows you to manage SMS and Share links between browser and mobile device.

Automated(?) last update message unfortunately wrong. Looks like last merge into main codebase on Gitlab was 3 weeks ago; app still actively developed.
