What is Project Velocity?

Velocity is a free, self-hosted flight and ship tracker. It pulls live aircraft (ADS-B) and ship (AIS) positions from public feeds with no API keys, records every position it sees to your own disk, and lets you drag a scrubber to rewind the map. Aircraft can also be replayed from public readsb archives back to 2024.

Area alerts go to Discord, a webhook or your phone through ntfy. Every contact shows which feed reported it and how old the fix is. Point it at your own receiver's tar1090 and it folds that in. It also runs as an MCP server, so an AI agent can ask it what is flying somewhere right now.
