  • Sozi

Sozi is an open-source browser-based presentation software using SVG and JavaScript to play animated presentations. Unlike in most presentation applications, a Sozi document is not organized as a slide show, but rather as a poster where the content of your presentation can be freely laid out. Playing such a presentation consists in a series of translations, zooms and rotations that allow to focus on the elements you want to show.

    • Sozi is very limited and its primary demo illustrates the dizzy effect of spin scaling which is the biggest anti-pattern of this style. They miss the mark or good design. Guest • Dec 2019 • 1 agrees and 1 disagrees Disagree   Agree
    • it's a very simple software but powerful instead of Prezi which is complex, heavy, and lazzy software. Prezi at the beginning was free but now you must pay for it !!! philippelhostis94Sep 2018 • 2 agrees and 0 disagrees Disagree   Agree
    • Too much limited ! Not easy to use. Really not. Guest • Mar 2018 • 0 agrees and 2 disagrees Disagree   Agree
    • It's free, is playable on any web browser, and you can use it on linux. Guest • May 2017 • 6 agrees and 0 disagrees Disagree   Agree
    • Creates zoomable presentations (like in Prezi) from SVG files you need to create first (e. g. in Inkscape). The output is a small HTML file running in every modern browser without Flash. Additionally, as Prezi uses SVG files, zoom is possible indefinitely and you won't get to see ugly pixels. Guest • May 2017 • 5 agrees and 1 disagrees Disagree   Agree
    • Do presentation in the same way (zooming), very small output file to be run on a browser. Guest • Dec 2015 • 5 agrees and 2 disagrees Disagree   Agree

  • impress.js

impress.js is a presentation framework based on the power of CSS3 transforms and transitions in modern browsers and inspired by the idea behind prezi.com - an "infinite canvas" for your presentation. Check out the demo at http://bartaz.github.com/impress.js Emphasis is placed on design as well as content. The documentation warns that "quite decent HTML and CSS skills", as well as design skills are needed to be able to use impress.js effectively.

    • Free and open source, much more lightweight and versatile than Prezi. However, being a JS framework, it might prove useless to anyone not already proficient in web programming. Strut.io is a WYSIWYG editor that uses impress.js and a number of other presentation frameworks you can choose from, and is therefore recommended for beginners and non technical users. • No flash. Both non-linear and linear presentations possible, also in combination. Works on all platforms. Sole requirement for presentation: modern browser with JavaScript enabled. Limitations: User-Interface may be improved. Current problems with some transitions in Google Chrome, minor display-problems in Internet Explorer. Currently best performance with Firefox.
