Prepos is awesome, but the description that's it is free for personal use is only half true. It stops working after a while and you can press 'continue trial' to keep using it but it is quite annoying.
nag screen is very annoying, only using this because after many years Koala finally stopped working on Mac.
It works very nicely but it constantly interrupts the users with pop-ups. When you are coding or browsing randomly the software appears and asks for 29USD. Imagine you are writing code in the middle of sentence this opens the screen and gets focus of your keyboard... Super annoying, uninstalled.
Works really well and is so simple to understand, with almost no setup
Before prepros, I had several atom plugins to compile, and push to a live-server. I used gulp and webpack but the things I developed were small-mid sized projects so it felt like overkill using those tools. Too much time to setup, and I always seem to have build errors with them. All I needed was a basic Typescript / PUG / SCSS compiler and instantaneously hot-reload so I can see changes live.
There's a few plugins you might want to have in your IDE + Browser to reduce the feedback loop

So far I have used this tool with Netbeans and PHP Storm and haven't found any issue, automaticaly detects changes and compiles SASS and LESS, haven't used it with other languages though, but so far it has a great interface, setting projects is really really fast and the minificaation and compiling options are just great, it's worth the price
