This seems to be the best of the free programs available for download or online although the online Block Poster I think is good too. Rasterbator seems to make the pixels bigger and interpolated, which might save ink but seems to make the image lighter than it needs to be at least on small posters that I tried.

Its pretty good, but the few times I have tried it, it seems to not keep the original quality of the picture..... now maybe it did.. it just seemed blurry, but when you are splicing it up to be a big poster it is going to be a bit blurry at close inspection.

What is PosteRazor?

The PosteRazor cuts a raster image into pieces which can afterwards be printed out and assembled to a poster.

As input, the PosteRazor takes a raster image. The resulting poster is saved as a multipage PDF document. An easy to use, wizard like user interface guides through 5 steps.
