Easy to use and install, convenient, robust, and makes efficient use of your time.
Downsides are that it does not have any configuration (though it is easy to modify the script if you're a curious person, hacker, or software developer) or any advanced features what so ever. And a little command prompt window opens while the script is running, though automatically closes when it's done. This is a limitation of batch files. It cannot run silently in the background or anything like that.

What is PNG to ICO?
A program that converts images to multi-resolution ICO icon files.
If you use the installer, PNG to ICO integrates with context menus (right-click menus) for image files and folders on Windows. There is also a portable version, for the more tech savy, which does not have context menu integration. Instead, the portable version has a so-called batch script, that you run manually from a command prompt.
PNG to ICO comes with and uses a program called Image Magick under the hood, but it is not installed system-wide. It is not a prerequisite to have Image Magick installed.
