Great software... and the author is as responsive as it gets. Vote on an enhancement and it will be coming down the pike.
The attention to detail in terms of de-duping photos without losing pictures is incredible. Somebody that actually things of "the little stuff".

Promising self hosted alternative to google photos
This is exactly what I was looking for to organize my photos!
Fantastic tool today, amazing potential coming. Today, PhotoStructure is a great gallery tool that makes sense of my messy photo galleries with a very intuitive self-hosted web application. With even more capabilities on the horizon (including tag editing, facial and object recognition) it will be the best of the best.
A simple way to see a large library of photos, it is also all local so no needing to rely on a cloud service
PhotoStructure is incredible. It finally FINALLY is bringing self hosted image management (massive need from the self hosted community) and gallery functionality as a legitimate Google photos replacement. With amazing heuristics ensuring finding matches to photos that may be dupes even if they have wildly mismatched names you’ll never have a better organized library!
