What is Pedalboard 2?
A VST (plus AudioUnit on OSX) plugin host designed for live use. Based on the JUCE 'audio plugin host' code, heavily modified to better suit my purposes.
Key Features:
Modular patching. All plugin parameters can be manipulated in real time via MIDI CCs or Open Sound Control messages. Any number of patches can be queued up and rapidly switched. Pedalboard2 is open source (GPL v3); the source code is included with both of the downloads.
Comments and Reviews
I want to filter the sound from my old Genius mic to make it sound modern. Clean the 50 Hz hum, etc. This VST host starts fast. Crashes seldom. Easy to use. Exactly what I need. Can't complain. Btw, I also use the Yamaha Netduetto drivers to make extra audio pipes. Virtual cables. For free. I tried it and it didn't pick most VST plugins. Will have to find something else. I am testing the Element host now.
The developer of Pedalboard2 warns on the official site that they had not updated it in "years" (already, as of 2021) and do not intend to do so. No support is available. Bugs will remain un-fixed.
