PDFOptim was far superior than PDF Squeezer. It had an 'Extreme' compression profile which made the PDF 'Bitonal' resulting in a very legible PDF with a nearly 90% reduction in file size. I was done in a couple of minutes after installing PDFOptim whereas I couldn't get the result I wanted with PDF Squeezer after nearly an hour of trying to configure custom compression profile with just the right DPI and Image compression combinations!
