What is Pasted Text-Substitution?

Pasted is a swift, stubbornly lightweight text-substitution utility that works system-wide. Type a short trigger sequence, and Pasted instantly replaces it with the full definition text.

Triggers can be organised into named collections and managed through a three-panel graphical interface: a Collections panel, a Triggers panel (with last-triggered timestamps), and a Definition Preview. Creating, editing, moving, and deleting triggers requires no scripting knowledge.

Definitions support dynamic date and time variables using ${} tags, for example, ${yyyy-mm-dd} inserts the current date, and ${dddd, d mmmm yyyy} inserts a fully formatted date string, resolved at trigger time to the local system clock.

A global Quick Search can be called from anywhere system-wide using Alt+; or Ctrl+Alt+; to search triggers by name, trigger string, or definition content, and insert results directly into the active text field.

Data is stored in a local SQLite database. Full database backup and restore, as well as JSON import and export of individual collections or the full trigger set, are supported for easy migration and sharing.

Pasted is free and open-source under the BSD 3-Clause License, built with Lazarus IDE/Free Pascal Compiler, and ships as a single self-contained executable with no runtime dependencies.
