Parrot

Parrot records your calls on your Mac: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or anything else your Mac can hear. No bot joins the meeting. It transcribes on your Mac with Whisper, tells the speakers apart on your Mac, and runs a live assistant next to the transcript.

What is Parrot?

Parrot records your calls on your Mac: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or anything else your Mac can hear. No bot joins the meeting. It transcribes on your Mac with Whisper, tells the speakers apart on your Mac, and runs a live assistant next to the transcript.

When the other side asks something your documents cover, like a pricing sheet or an FAQ, the assistant suggests an answer and names the file it came from. Questions you haven't answered stay pinned. When you hang up, a report lists what was promised, which questions were handled or missed, and coaching on the call.

You pick the AI: Claude with your own key, a local model through Ollama (fully offline), or any OpenAI-compatible server. Audio stays on your Mac unless you choose cloud transcription. No account, no telemetry, no Parrot servers.

Free and open source under GPL-3.0. Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon.

Not related to Parrot AI, the cloud transcription service that closed in 2025.
