What is Pam Pro?
A while back, like many of you, my company was consumed by the patterns of AI progress constantly lapping at the shores of leadership and shareholder thought processes. With private equity at the helm, there is an ever-present desire to do more with less, and to optimize costs using the overabundance of technology at our fingertips. As a longtime enterprise architect and generalist, I branched out and sought to solve problems that historically were only being solved by enterprise giants at that same enterprise cost level.
To me, it was pretty clear that when enterprise software does only one thing for a company, they are usually overpaying. Slowly, this idea solidified in my head.. software that focuses on doing one thing, and doing that one thing exceptionally well, can actually help businesses get exactly what they are looking for at a highly desirable price point.
So, the goal became simple. I knew I wanted to tackle Privileged Access Management (PAM). We needed to give an audit-ready, security-vaulted account system to companies at a price that disrupted rival SaaS vendors. We wanted to allow companies seeking cybersecurity insurance to get a larger discount on their premium than the actual cost of the PAM platform itself. This yields a net win-win for everyone.
In doing market research, we realized there was a gap that was ripe for our niche. The big brands really only build for Fortune 500 budgets and enterprise scales. On top of that, they were built using legacy modalities that might have been progressive at the time, but wouldn't be considered cloud-first today.
As development progressed, we knew instantly there were a few specific challenges we wanted to tackle for the SMB and mid-market customer.
-
100% Cloud-Native, It had to be built with zero secret-exchange requirements between the provider and the customer (meaning it needed to be dead simple).
-
Instant Compliance, We wanted to provide an audit-ready report of your privileged accounts in about 10 minutes from login.
-
Multi-Tenant Vaulting, We wanted to deliver advanced features that are incredibly difficult for enterprise-scale products to do easily such as, isolated multi-tenant vaulting managed from a single pane of glass.
-
No Sales Gatekeeping, We wanted to completely ditch traditional enterprise sales gatekeeping. The pricing is simple, transparent, and straightforward just like a consumer product. You can try it and buy it as easy as pie.
Unfortunately, if you are a mid-market team, MSP, or SMB, you have the exact same strict audit requirements as the giants, but you face vastly compressed timelines to fulfill them. After months of architectural alignment, we have finally arrived at a product we are genuinely excited and proud to share with the world, and we look forward to the release.
