What is OpenWork?

OpenWork is an open-source system similar to "Claude Work", designed for knowledge workers. It operates as a desktop application, using OpenCode at its core. Its interface provides a streamlined workflow, intended to turn "agentic work" into a product-like experience.

Unlike the developer-centric interfaces for OpenCode, OpenWork is extensible, auditable, and permissioned. It can operate locally or remotely, connecting to remote servers.

OpenWork features include host mode which runs OpenCode locally, and client mode that connects to an existing OpenCode server. It supports session creation, live streaming for real-time updates, and an execution plan that displays OpenCode tasks as a timeline. It manages permission requests, provides workflow templates, and includes a skills manager.
