What is OmniPTY?

OmniPTY, formerly Oxide, is an opinioned GPU-rendered terminal built on GPUI (Zed's UI framework) and alacritty_terminal (Alacritty's PTY + VT parser), with a file-tree drawer you drive like vim and a status bar that knows where your shell is. The things you'd normally bolt on — a file tree, tmux-style workspaces, a powerline prompt, a vim copy mode — are built in, and all of it is configured in one TOML file that reloads when you save. No account, no AI, no telemetry: the only thing Oxide asks the network is whether GitHub has a newer release.
