NullVault: Secret Photo Vault

NullVault is a private, encrypted home for sensitive photos, videos, documents, files and notes on iPhone. No NullVault account is required: draw a pattern to open a vault and keep different parts of your life separate.

HIDDEN VAULTS Each eligible pattern opens its own hidden vault. There is no master list revealing your other vaults. This supports plausible deniability during ordinary app use, but does not guarantee forensic invisibility: backups or advanced examination may reveal encrypted data or activity.

STANDARD ENCRYPTION NullVault uses AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption, Argon2id for pattern-based key derivation, and HKDF-SHA-256 and HMAC-SHA-256 for key derivation and authentication. Recovery uses 24-word BIP-39 phrases generated from secure random entropy. Built with Apple CryptoKit and libsodium, NullVault uses no proprietary cipher.

STORE AND ORGANIZE Import photos, videos and documents, capture with the camera, or write encrypted notes. Choose original quality or optimized storage for compatible media, and export only selected items. Organize items into encrypted collections without duplicating files. Items remain in your Library and can belong to multiple collections. Removing an item from a collection or deleting a collection does not delete the original. Free includes one collection per vault; Pro includes unlimited collections.

PERSONALIZE YOUR VAULT Choose Teal, Steel, Amber or Rose accents and adjust the pattern grid’s node style, size and spacing. Pro also includes alternate Home Screen icons.

RECOVERY YOU CONTROL Each vault has its own 24-word recovery phrase. Store it safely: NullVault has no account recovery and cannot retrieve a lost pattern or phrase for you.

OPTIONAL BACKUP AND SHARING Free and Pro support on-device encryption before backup to your personal iCloud account. Restore from version history using your recovery phrase. Pro adds controlled, read-only sharing through a separate private phrase, with expiration, export controls and revocation. Recipients can view collections but cannot modify them.

PROTECTION UNDER PRESSURE Pro lets you designate a duress vault. Opening its pattern immediately and irreversibly removes access to every other local vault on that iPhone. It does not erase copies someone has already exported.
