What is NowWave?

NowWave is a free, native macOS mini player. It shows what is playing on TIDAL, Spotify or Apple Music in the menu bar, in a floating widget or in a Dynamic Island that works on any Mac, notch or not.

From the player you can add the track to your favorites on TIDAL and Spotify, share it with your own message template, set it as your Slack status, show it as Discord Rich Presence and scrobble it to Last.fm or ListenBrainz. Track detection is exact rather than a title search, so favorites and share links always point at the right track.

Every theme changes the whole layout, not just the colours: a frosted glass card, a poster, pure cover art, a spinning vinyl, a dashboard dial and a chroma-key theme made for streamers. The Dynamic Island sits around the notch, or in the middle of the menu bar at the bar's own height on Macs without one, and expands into a full player on hover.

There is no NowWave account and no server: sign-ins happen in your browser with the official APIs, tokens stay on your Mac and nothing is collected. Free, notarized by Apple, macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon and Intel.
