now recording is a meeting recorder and transcriber that runs entirely in your web browser. Speech recognition is performed on your own device using OpenAI's Whisper compiled to WebAssembly, so the audio is converted to text locally and is never uploaded to a server. You can verify this yourself in your browser's network tab.

No bot joins your call. It captures the audio your own device already hears, so it works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and any other meeting software, and with in-person conversations. There is nothing to install and no account is needed to start recording, which makes it usable on managed work machines where installing software is blocked.

It also transcribes recordings you already have, on-device: MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC, and the audio track of MP4 or WebM files. There is no limit on how many files you import, with a ceiling of 500 MB and 3 hours per file.

Features include live transcription in 29 languages, automatic speaker labels with per-speaker statistics, AI summaries with action items that cite the transcript turns they came from, question answering across your meetings, full-text search, share links, and one-click export to Markdown, plain text, SRT and VTT subtitles, JSON, and the original audio.

Signing in is optional and also free. It adds cloud sync of meeting text, never audio, along with search and sharing across devices.

Requires a current Chromium-based browser such as Chrome or Edge. There is no mobile app.
