Newgrounds Player Alternatives
Newgrounds Player is described as 'Newgrounds is home to over 20 years of content built using Adobe Flash. Unfortunately, most browser manufacturers will be dropping support for the Flash plugin, and these submissions will no longer play directly in your browser'. There are seven alternatives to Newgrounds Player for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Linux, Firefox, Mac and Mobogenie. The best alternative is Ruffle, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Newgrounds Player are BlueMaxima's Flashpoint (Free, Open Source), Lightspark (Free, Open Source), SWF Opener (Free) and XMTV Player (Free).
- Ruffle is a Flash Player emulator written in Rust. Ruffle runs natively on all modern operating systems as a standalone application, and on all modern browsers through the use of WebAssembly.

Ruffle vs Newgrounds Player opinions
Douze I couldn't confirm it for sure, but it seems the dev team behind Ruffle is pretty much the same that developped the Newgrounds Player. As of now, most of the effort is put on Ruffle as it offers in-browser integration and doesn't depend on critical proprietary files. So Ruffle is essentially the future of Newgrounds Player. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong ! - the webgame preservation project.
