What is Neurix?

Neurix is a free, open source (MIT) app that runs small AI language models directly on your Android phone or Windows PC. Download a model once over wifi, then chat with it with no internet at all. Inference runs on the device CPU through llama.cpp, so conversations never leave the device and no account is needed.

Features: a model store that suggests a model that fits your device memory (Qwen 3.5, LFM 2.5 and Gemma 4, from 640 MB to 5.2 GB), resumable downloads checked against SHA-256, searchable local chat history, custom characters, optional Think mode for reasoning models, a speed test, four themes, and a backup file to move chats between phone and PC.

Limits: small models are slower and less capable than cloud chatbots, text only, the Android app is an APK from GitHub releases, and macOS and Linux builds are from source only.
