It's a great alternative to standard social media while also being able to import things I like from other social networks.

What is Myriad Social?

In practice, Myriad Social is a social media platform you can own and host yourself, on which you can freely discuss whatever topic you like, or import posts from other social media to continue the discussion in an environment with more relaxed moderation rules (or your own rules, if you're importing to your own instance of Myriad).

If you're tired of social platforms controlled by algorithms that keep on banning users left and right for... reasons(?), Myriad Social offers a great alternative to Facebook, Twitter, Reddit... On Myriad, you organize your content into lists called "Timelines", that others can subscribe to. This content can be created and published directly from the app, or imported from Twitter and a growing list of other sources. There are some easy monetization options, too -just visit the app and see on your own.

You can host a Myriad Social server at home, and moderate it the way you see fit -while being listed as part of the Myriad Social network and accessible from its main app (unless you also want a separate frontend).

This app has an open API, meaning that you can develop anything from Telegram bots to Chrome extensions and command line interfaces if you have coding experience.
