What is MuseScope?

MuseScope is a pocket art guide. It tells clear, engaging stories about artworks, artists and museums, and every story can be read or listened to.

The catalogue covers tens of thousands of works and thousands of artists and museums, in ten languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. No jargon and no wall of dates, just the thing worth knowing about what you are looking at.

Ways in:

  • Explore at home: browse works, artists and museums, search, and follow one painting to the next.
  • Listen: each story has an audio version, so it comes with you through a gallery or on a walk.
  • Scan in a museum: point the camera at a painting or at its wall label and MuseScope finds the work.
  • Journeys: curated routes through a collection that pick out the works worth your time and tell you what to look for before you go.
  • Ask: follow-up questions about any work or artist (Premium).

Reading is free for everyone, with no account and no advertising. Free readers get five audio guides and ten scans a day. Premium removes the daily limits and adds questions and every journey.
