Muse is an AI-powered music tool that transforms natural-language prompts into musical outputs—specifically chords, melodies, and basslines—in real time. It supports both Ableton Live via the Muse M4L device and a browser-based Lab for users who prefer a web workflow.

Inside Ableton, the Muse M4L device sends generated MIDI directly to the DAW’s piano roll and maps synth parameters to user instruments. Users can define musical elements like key, scale, length, and routing, and choose between standard and high-quality generation modes.

Muse’s text-to-synth feature converts descriptive prompts (for instance, “a gritty reese under a rusted sky”) into playable synth presets, currently available for Ableton’s Wavetable synth, with plans to support more instruments.

The browser Lab provides three core modules:

• Text-to-MIDI generation: interactive MIDI creation with pitch and rhythm control.
• Text-to-audio generation and editing: generate or upload samples and manipulate them via AI.
• Text-to-synth preset creation: AI-powered synth patch creation for Vital (and potentially other synths).
