MSYS Alternatives

MSYS is described as 'collection of GNU utilities such as bash, make, gawk and grep to allow building of applications and programs which depend on traditionally UNIX tools to be present' and is an app in the OS & Utilities category. There are four alternatives to MSYS for Windows, BSD and Linux. The best alternative is Cygwin, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like MSYS are MinGW (Free, Open Source), MSYS2 (Free, Open Source) and MinGW-w64 (Free, Open Source).
