What is Mizune?

Mizune is a free, open-source video player for learning Japanese. It plays the video files you already have, shows the subtitle line being spoken beside the video, and looks up any word you click in it, undoing the conjugation. JMdict is built in, and Yomitan dictionaries such as Jitendex can be imported. Words worth keeping go to Anki with the sentence, its audio and a clip of the scene, through AnkiConnect on desktop or AnkiDroid on Android. It reads SRT, ASS and WebVTT subtitles, embedded tracks and Blu-ray picture subtitles, and includes Anime4K upscaling on desktop.
