Mentria AI

Mentria is a free web app for running language models in the browser. Its own WebGPU engine runs the model on your device's graphics chip, so chat works without an API key or an account. The default model is Qwen3.5 0.8B, a 490 MB download that runs on phones as well as computers. Devices with more memory can switch to Qwen3.5 2B or 4B, or to Bonsai 27B, a 1-bit model of 3.8 GB. AI Chat accepts images as well as text. After the first download the model is saved in the browser and starts in seconds, offline too.

Around the chat are everyday tools that run on the device, such as a step counter and a ruler; an extensions library with add-ons such as a document scanner; peer-to-peer encrypted chat and calls; and card decks for learning how AI works. You can add your own extensions and decks. Mentria installs as a progressive web app, and its interface is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Japanese. It has no ads or trackers, and your data stays private.
