Comments and Reviews
Allows Full Video and Audio Streaming anywhere in the world and setup is extremely easy.
I was slow to adopt Emby because it was complicated to set up with my particular network configuration.
The Good: it finally got me to wrap my head around nfs and deal with sharing my media using NFS. Also, the library management is miles ahead of, for example, Kodi.
The Bad: However, I had thought that it was a free solution for me to stream my owned content to myself on my own network. It seems that I have to pay them money to do that. I will be looking into Jellyfin, but in the meantime will continue to use Kodi, which just works, despite some of its drawbacks, and doesn't force me to pay again to use media I've purchased.
Dlna server on android
You need an Emby Premiere account even to watch media IN MY OWN PC (emby Windows Desktop version, server in the same computer). Waste of time configuring this thing.
Very easy to install on Raspberry. It is the only software that I was able to install on my Raspberry (with Plex but Plex is too cloud-oriented).
I really like the design.
Will see in the time how it goes.
I've been using it for over 5 years and it's always been great. I found the tool when using Kodi and it was very easy to change, as Emby is much easier to configure. Today I have the paid version and very happy with the result.
Needed it for metadata, generating .nfo files on the fly for most shows. Can be integrated into Kodi for a very nice experience. You can add a season episode by episode and it gets updated each time. Will also try Jellyfin in the future. Plex (free) does not generate .nfo.
