MarkdownPoint is a free presentation app for Mac and Windows. It works like Keynote but with tools you know from Figma and After Effects. Each presentation is a folder of plain text: the words in Markdown, the layout in YAML. Track every change in Git, edit it in any text editor, and let AI agents work in it.
Design
• Smart guides like in Figma. Shapes snap to equal spacing, matching sizes and matching angles.
• Layouts, grids, guides and layers.
• Code with syntax highlighting.
• Themes from a free community gallery, with your own fonts and brand colors.
Motion
• Keyframes and motion paths like in After Effects.
• Magic Move between slides like in Keynote.
• Blur, 3D depth, and text that arrives word by word or line by line.
AI with your own key
• The Agent changes the objects you select when you ask. It uses your own Anthropic, OpenAI or Google API key.
• “Suggest from slide” writes an image prompt from the words on a slide.
• An MCP server and the “mdpoint” command let agents like Claude Code make and edit presentations.
Work together
• Live pointers and comments on any slide.
• Take turns editing a presentation kept in Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive or iCloud Drive.
• Publish a presentation to the web for free.
Present and export
• A presenter display with notes, the next slide and a timer.
• Export to PowerPoint, PDF, images and 4K video.
MarkdownPoint is free for personal and commercial use. You do not need an account to use it.
